Hexagram 62 of 64
Preponderance of the Small
☳☶ Thunder over Mountain
A small excess; fly low.
Preponderance of the Small suggests that small matters are better handled than large ones right now. The bird in flight, leaving its call behind, reminds you that it is wiser to come down than to rise up. This is a time for modest steps, careful wording, and attention to detail.
Judgment
Success through perseverance. Small matters can be done; great matters cannot. A flying bird leaves its cry: it is not fitting to rise; it is fitting to descend. Very good fortune.
Image
Thunder on the mountain: preponderance of the small. The noble person is more reverent than usual in conduct, more sorrowful in mourning, and more frugal in spending.
The six lines
Read from the bottom line (the beginning) to the top line (the outcome). Each line gives the classical text, our English translation, and a plain-language reading.
A flying bird brings misfortune.
Rising too quickly, above your current stage, can bring trouble. Stay humble about where you are.
You pass beyond the grandfather and meet the grandmother. You do not reach the ruler and meet his minister. No blame.
You may not reach the top figure you hoped for, but you can connect with the people in the middle who can help you. Work through them.
Do not go beyond the limit, but guard against it. If you follow the crowd into excess, you may be harmed. Misfortune.
Be on guard against going too far, especially when others push you. Pressure to go to extremes can do real harm.
No blame. You meet the situation without overstepping. Going on is dangerous, so take warning and do not hold to it as a lasting course.
You can handle this moment without reaching too far. If it turns risky, take the warning seriously and do not make a fixed rule out of it.
Dense clouds, but no rain, from my western outskirts. The lord shoots and takes what lies in its den.
A lot of effort and preparation may not show results yet. Be patient, and act in the right place at the right time.
You fail to meet it and go beyond. The bird flies away from it. Misfortune; this is called calamity.
Overshooting and missing the moment, like a bird flying off, brings trouble. Notice when you have gone too far and correct course quickly.

Choose small, clear steps over sweeping plans. Careful reviews, short updates and precise wording protect you better than large announcements.
Money
This is a time for modest spending and small, reversible decisions. Avoid large moves that stretch beyond what you can comfortably manage.
